Now hiring Prep Cook, Customer Service (Barista), & Baker Prep (nights only)

Prep Cook

Available Shifts: 5am – 1pm (Monday - Sunday) Full-time & Part-time available

At Cake Bar, we believe quality desserts & tea served with a positive attitude are the key to bring everyone closer together. In partnership with other team members, we will attend to customers upon entrance to the cafe. You are the face of Cake Bar and responsible for our customer’s experience. We expect you to contribute to a positive, respectful, and safe work culture.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare all to order breakfast items and breakfast pastires.

- Ability to complete simple cooking tasks such as assembling bagels and cooking eggs.

- Ability to read and follow recipe instructions, procedures, and techniques.

- Inspect products for quality during and after baking.

- Ability to safely operate equipment such as mixer and oven.

- Ability to lift 50 lbs. 

- Accurately, quickly, and consistently prepare food and pastries while in compliance with New York State health code.

- Contribute to a positive, respectful, clean, and safe work culture through example and peer accountability.


Baker Prep

Available Shifts: 3pm – 9pm (Tuesday - Sunday)

We are looking for a baker prep to help us make all cookies, pastries, and all of our homemade filling for our delicious cakes. You must be able to follow our recipe book and pay attention to all detail of the job. We will make sure you can try many flavors around the world like tangerine, persimmon, chrysanthemum, genmaicha, yuzu, etc. We will create the most interesting desserts together with those flavorful ingredients. 

Responsibilities:

- Bake and finish all cupcakes and pastries for the shop.

- Ability to read and follow recipe instructions, procedures, and techniques.

- Inspect products for quality during and after baking

- Ability to safely operate equipment such as mixer and oven.

- Ability to lift 50 lbs. 

- Accurately, quickly, and consistently prepare full desserts and pastries while in compliance with New York State health code.

- Contribute to a positive, respectful, clean, and safe work culture through example and peer accountability.

Qualification:

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Available at least 4 days/week

- At least 1 year of baking experience ( home baking also can count as experience)

- Food SERVSAFE handler certification preferred (can be obtained after hire)

- Attention to cleanliness and safety.

- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.


Customer Service (Barista)

Qualification:

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Available at least 3 days/week

- At least 1 year of prep cook experience

- Food SERVSAFE handler certification preferred (can be obtained after hire)

- Attention to cleanliness and safety.

- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.

Available Shifts: 7am – 12pm, 12pm – 5pm, and 5pm – 10:30pm (Monday - Sunday)

- Positively represent Cake Bar through exemplary customer service and comprehensive product knowledge.

- Appropriate cash handling and register use.

- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and safe work culture through example and peer accountability.

Qualification:

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Available at least 3 days/week

- At least 1 year of server experience

- Food SERVSAFE handler certification preferred (can be obtained after hire)

- Attention to cleanliness and safety.

- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.


Cake Decorator

Available Shifts: 8am - 3pm (Monday - Sunday)

We are looking for a cake decorator to help us decorate all of our cakes. You must be able to follow our recipe book and pay attention to all detail of the job. We are looking for someone who can be creative in coming up with new flavors and decorating ideas. We will make sure you can try many flavors around the world like tangerine, persimmon, chrysanthemum, genmaicha, yuzu, etc. We will create the most interesting and beautiful desserts together with those flavorful ingredients. 

Responsibilities:

- Decorate cakes and cupcakes in a consistent manner.

- Ability to read and follow recipe instructions, procedures, and techniques.

- Inspect products for quality during and after decorating

- Ability to help with other tasks in the kitchen as needed

- Ability to safely operate equipment such as mixer and oven.

- Ability to lift 50 lbs. 

- Accurately, quickly, and consistently prepare full desserts and pastries while in compliance with New York State health code.

- Contribute to a positive, respectful, clean, and safe work culture through example and peer accountability.

Qualification:

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Available at least 3 days/week

- At least 1 year of baking or cake decorating experience ( home baking also can count as experience)

- Food SERVSAFE handler certification preferred (can be obtained after hire)

- Attention to cleanliness and safety.

- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
